By now you probably know I love a good plan and summer plans are a must-have for this mom’s sanity.
With school in session all the way down to the end of June, summer vacation doesn’t begin for us until July. So, that gives me a good bit of time to get my summer plans in order.
To be honest, June usually finds me scurrying around trying to figure out what I can automate, schedule in advance and get out of the way before summer vacation starts.
Since I often work from home, having the kids at home with me for two months requires a special type of skill. One that I haven’t quite mastered yet.
It was different when they were younger, but in this tween and teen stage, there’s a special level of creativity and ingenuity required.
And don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I want my kids out of my hair so that I can work. It’s just that I want to be able to enjoy the summer with them too!
The time goes by waaaay too quickly and if I’m not careful, the summer would be finished before you know it. And in the blink of an eye my babies would be off to college.
But apart from a handy list of fun activities to do with the kids, there’s another kind of summer plan I’m focusing on. This is the plan of all summer plans.
I think I’ll call it my “Plan Be“.
It’s a plan of how I want to ‘be’ this summer. And how I want to feel.
It’s not about activities, and check lists and math review.
It’s not about an Instagram-worthy family vacation that the kids would be proud to write about when they get back to school.
It’s not even about bragging rights when I realize that my summer plans resulted in the best summer ever!
No, it’s not any of that stuff.
The summer plans I have up my sleeve are different this time.
My summer plans focus on hope. Not hype.
Summer Plans: No Hype Required
I’m excited to share what my summer plans look like in a guest post over on Joy A. William’s site. Joy invited me to be a part of her Joy to the Soul Summer series and I have to say, just the name alone makes me want to melt.
After all, who doesn’t want a little more joy in their soul this summer?
I know I do!
My prayer is that what I’m sharing over at Joy’s place will warm your heart, encourage your soul, and free you up to go have some real, lasting fun this summer.
So, head on over to Joy A. Williams to read my post, How to Choose Hope over Hype This Summer.
