God’s amazing love, never ceases to…well, amaze me!
But I have to admit, there are times I need to be reminded. And today, as I celebrate my sister, Carlie’s birthday and the final post in the Shining Like Stars series, I wanted to share some inspiration to help us shine for Christ.
What started out as encouragement for my sister on her milestone birthday, blossomed into a Bible study of God’s amazing love. I came up with 25 Bible verses to remind her (and now us) of God’s powerful, never-ending love.
25 Reminders of God’s Amazing Love
These 25 Bible verses remind us how much God loves each and every one of His children. I’ve compiled the list using the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible, but you can choose another version (or mix it up) to create your list of favorite Bible verses declaring God’s love.
Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.
The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.
But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.
I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.
Within your temple, O God,
we meditate on your unfailing love.
He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
But whoever loves God is known by God.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
We love because he first loved us.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—
“Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
