Sparkle Moments – Your Weekend Inspiration: Give Thanks

It was my birthday last week and I was quite happy to spend a few days celebrating. The pictures from this week’s Sparkle Moments are actually shots from my birthday weekend getaway, which my amazing husband pulled off flawlessly!

It was an incredibly fulfilling week and I am completely moved by how God is showing up in my life AND here on the blog. I know it’s not Thanksgiving yet, but I just want to share with you two things that I am grateful for in my blogging world this week.

1. Giving Back and A Giveaway

In honour of my birthday, I did a recap of some amazing books that have transformed my life. As part of that post I ran my first ever book giveaway. Personally, this was a great way to encourage my fellow blogger, Aimee Imbeau, who recently released her first book.

I am pleased to announce that Dianne Thornton is the lucky recipient of Aimee’s book, Raising Godly Children: Children Who Courageously Follow Their Lord. It turns out that Dianne is also a Christian blogger and you can visit her lovely site called Sweeter Than Honey. Knowing that both Aimee and Dianne were blessed through the giveaway, warms my heart. Please share some sparkle and stop by each of their blogs and tell them I said ‘hi’!

2. A List as a Ministry of Hope

Speaking of warming my heart, I was blown away by an unexpected blessing earlier this week. Melanie Redd of Melanie Redd’s Ministry of Hope, compiled an incredible list of The 100 Most Inspiring Christian Blogs on the Web.  I am so humbled that Melanie chose to include my little blog on her list. She was praying to God to find a way to encourage other bloggers and she surely succeeded in that goal. It would be a blessing if you would check out Melanie’s post and visit some of the lovely blogs she’s included.

Being blessed and being a blessing to others, really help us to be grateful.

What is a Sparkle Moment? 

• Living in the Caribbean, I am fortunate to be surrounded by amazing beauty. I get to see beautiful sunsets, bright blue skies, sparkling blue waters, and white sandy beaches, almost everyday. Enjoying God’s creation is pure SPARKLE, no matter what part of the world you live in.
• Every now and again there are those little everyday moments when something special happens. A butterfly pauses long enough for the camera shutter, a little girl dances in the rain, someone says a kind word that lifts your spirits…ahhh…SPARKLE!
• On the flip side, we have some days when there’s no sun, no shine. It’s a plain and gloomy day until we create our own sparkle.  Sometimes a pick-me-up is what we need! When we choose to add our own beauty, those moments can SPARKLE too.

Sparkle Moments come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing’s for sure, they make our hearts sing!
