Have you been following God but feeling like something’s missing?
Are you on your path to purpose but struggle to accept that God is enough?
Welcome to my world.
Earlier this year, I claimed the word enough as my #OneWord for the year. It felt exciting and a bit intimidating at the same time. Quite frankly, it scared me to imagine where God might lead me with a word like this.
And I have to say it really turned out to be a roller-coaster ride.
Not in terms of catastrophic events in my life, but more in terms of my relationship with God. I’ve been going through an internal struggle that has led me to ask, “is God really enough for me?”
As we embark on our first installation in the #LifePurposeFull series, I pose this question to you as well. Because the way we answer this question and the way we view God’s role in our lives will influence our purpose.
So tell me, is God enough for you?
Is God enough when your path seems unclear?
Is God enough when you’ve put all your eggs in one basket only to have them crash to the ground?
Is God enough when the tall, dark, handsome man you were expecting has lost his GPS? Why, that’s the only way to explain why he hasn’t shown up yet.
Is God enough when the bassinet is hauntingly empty and you’ve been invited to yet another baby shower?
Is God enough when you struggle to find your purpose in this new season of life?
Is God enough when illness or death or deep, lasting pain sets in?
Is God enough, my friend?
When life doesn’t go as planned we begin to find God lacking. When our heart’s desires aren’t met, we wonder if God has forgotten.
As noble as our desires might be, it’s a sad day when they take precedence over God.
But by questioning if God is enough, I’ve discovered three truths I’d like to share with you.
- God created me to seek Him
In Acts 17:16-34 we meet a society of seekers. A people who were longing to be filled. Just one problem. They were filling up with all the wrong things. Sounds familiar?
Paul saw their emptiness and pointed them to the one and only source of satisfaction.
Regardless of what we’re looking for, God wants us to start by seeking Him. After all, that’s why He created us — to seek Him and to be in relationship with Him.
And He promises that when we seek Him, we will find Him. He will see to it that everything else falls into place — according to His plan, not ours.
- God has a specific purpose for my life
And it is only when I seek Him that I’ll find what that is.
- God satisfies completely
When I seek God and follow in His steps, He provides all that I need. I don’t need to look any further. Whatever He calls me to do, He will equip me.
So, as I continue on my path to purpose, I can rest assured that God is enough.
When I seek Him, put Him first and walk with Him, He will satisfy me. Then everything else will be icing on the cake.

I love what you are doing through this series Marva. When we find our purpose in Christ, there is freedom. Freedom to do His will for our lives knowing He has equipped us. I will definitely be sharing this on my Inspiration page. Have a wonderful week and God bless!

This is amazing and so inspiring Marva! Seeking God’s purpose and will for us is so important and surprisingly, can be missed because we are living in a flawed and imperfect will.
Thanks so much for sharing!
